Ms. Banner is a dedicated humanitarian and advocate for social justice, was born in Manhattan, New York. As a Jewish-American, she embraces cultural diversity and is committed to lifelong learning and community advocacy. Banner served the Lauderhill Police Department for 23 years, retiring as the City’s Community Policing Officer in 2018. She has received numerous commendations for her empathy and excellence in service. Her dedication extends to the Caribbean community, where she has built alliances with leaders and mobilized volunteers to support the elderly and vulnerable, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Debbie’s activism includes involvement with various community programs and organizations like Relay for Life and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. An alumna of Seton Hall University and Broward College Police Academy, she currently presides over the Kiwanis Club of Lauderhill and serves on several boards. In retirement, she continues her advocacy and enjoys wellness activities with her Dachshund, Dayla.
